GeoEye-1 satellite imagery study of Montezuma
2017-11-08
A structural interpretation of the Montezuma licence was completed.
In July 2017 Murphy Geological Services, Cork completed a structural interpretation using the GeoEye-1 satellite imagery for the Montezuma licence area. The higher resolution imagery provided more detailed analysis of major shears and faults, veins, artisanal workings and areas of ground disturbance not previously visible on earlier Landsat ETM+ studies. This report has produced valuable insights into the regional structural geology and highlighted the considerable extent of artisanal mining in the Montezuma area.
Some 40 exploration targets were identified within the licence area of which 9 are ranked as priority 1. Two locations have open pit development potential. We have specific drill and trenching targets within the priority 1 “hot spots”. These will be acted upon when the company is adequately resourced.
