Following national and presidential elections held in 2008, a transitional, power sharing government was formed between President Mugabe's African National Front - Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). The National Unity Government has 31 cabinet ministers with ZANU- PF in the minority.
